A few months a go we decided to go to New Orleans for a weekend trip. While N.O. is famous for the French Quarter, Bourbon Street and lots of alcohol(among other things), that wasn't our cup of tea.
There are two types of plantations in N.O. Creole plantations and English plantations. The English plantations were super extravagant and fancy, however the tours offered there were lacking excitement. One cool note lots of movies use the plantation homes. The Creole homes were very colorful and the tours were much more interesting. We especially enjoyed the Laura Plantation. They allowed us to walk into every room of the house and even took us to the basement.
We enjoyed antique shopping, eating lots of food and visiting the plantations.
